Simple as 1-2-3 ...

  • Step 1 - Telehealth (Online) - 3 to 4 hours*

    First take the Telehealth section. This is completed here online by computer or smartphone at your own pace. As you log on/off your progress is saved. Completion of this section is required before attending the Hospital Visit. *Note: enrollment includes a 60-day access to the TeleHealth course.

  • Step 2 - Hospital Visit (In person) - 3hrs

    The Hospital Visit is attended in-person at a participating Trauma Center. **Note: The Hospital Visit may be substituted by an online "Virtual Hospital Visit" for Health & Safety precautions or circumstances that an in-person visit is not available.

  • Step 3 - Certificate of Completion (Congrats!)

    You will be provided a Certificate of Completion at the close of the Hospital Visit. Submit this to your court-referral agency (aka "Volunteer Center") to get court credit. Then, it's a wrap!

About the Hospital Component

  • What is this course?

    This course is the Hospital Component. It is the "H" in the Hospital and Morgue (H.A.M.) Program. It is court-ordered for DUI and related offenses, used by the Los Angeles Superior Court (LASC).

  • What do I need to enroll into the Hospital Component?

    Enrollment into the Hospital Component is done online through the link above. You will need to provide the following: name, court case #, email, contact phone, and payment. After enrollment, you will have 60-day access to the Telehealth section online.

  • Is the Hospital Component completed online?

    The Hospital Component is made up of 2 sections. The 1st section is the TeleHealth (online). The 2nd section is a Hospital Visit (in-person). Completion of both sections are required. **Note: The Hospital Visit may be substituted by an online "Virtual Hospital Visit" in circumstances that an in-person visit is not available.

  • What does the Enrollment Fee cover?

    The Enrollment Fee covers the Hospital Component, which includes both the TeleHealth & Hospital Visit sections. So, when you show up for your Hospital Visit, there is no additional charge. *Note: enrollment includes 60-day access to complete the TeleHealth section.

  • When will I be scheduled for the Hospital Visit?

    Most participants already have an appointment date for the Hospital Visit. If you do not, contact your Volunteer Center (aka court-referral agency) to schedule an appointment on your behalf. Your Volunteer Center is the agency that provided you the referral (link) to enroll in TeleHealth.

  • What about my court-related questions?

    All court-related questions should be directed to your courthouse or court-referral agency (aka Volunteer Center) as appropriate. This includes court due dates, how to obtain a court extension, rescheduling missed appointments, and lost certificates of completion.

  • What is the H.A.M. Program?

    The Hospital and Morgue (H.A.M.) Program is a court-ordered program used in the sentencing of DUI’s and related risky offenses. It consists of the following 3 parts: (1) Hospital Component; (2) Morgue Component; and (3) a reflective Written Assignment. This program is used by the Los Angeles Superior Courts (LASC).

  • What is the Hospital Component?

    The Hospital Component is the "H" in the H.A.M. Program. It is divided into 2 sections: (1) A Telehealth section taken online; and (2) a Hospital Visit section taken in person. The Telehealth (online) section is completed first and can be started after enrollment. The Hospital Visit is attended afterward.

  • What about my Morgue Visit?

    The Morgue Visit is a separate component of the H.A.M. Program. It is hosted by the Los Angeles County Department of the Coroner. For more information, contact your court-referral center (aka Volunteer Center).

  • What about my other questions?

    After enrollment, you will be provided an email “support link” to ask your course-related questions. If it is a common question, it will be added & listed here under Other FAQ's. For questions that are not related to coursework, contact your Volunteer Center or courthouse as appropriate.
